"Dreaming" this Sunday Social

Happy Sunday! I'm linking up with Neely for Sunday Social. It hits close to home because it's about jobs/dream jobs and I would like to work in Hospice. I spent this weekend with my family, attending my Grandmother's funeral and she spent her last days in Hospice. The funeral was beautiful (more on that later)
**Beautiful huh? I'm looking for some DIY flowering drying tips so that I can make something for my mom including the poem read at the funeral-- she would love it and am lyrically creative but it doesn't go much further**

I'm super grateful to those of you who reached out to me and offered prayers and kind words! They will not be forgotten, thank you kindly!

1. What is your dream job?
Professional Goofball!  (hence the picture with the mustache! jk! jk!)
My passion and the ONLY place I can see myself being happy working for the rest of my life and actually settling into a career, would be as a Bereavement Counselor. Ultimately, I would like to work with the Parent's of children but I feel like my knowledge, compassion, and soul work would wonders for any age group and I assure you that one day you will find my doing just that!  Mark my word!

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn’t need to work for money, what would you do with your time?

Volunteer for Hospice and run a Rescue Dog Shelter on about 10-20 acres.  I know everyone says this but I've worked on and off with animals for years and I'm pretty darn smart when it comes to them so it'd be a perfect fit.

3. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?

Being that I'm not in my dream field yet but I've suffered my own loss of a child, I would tell someone not to give any advice if you haven't walked a mile in that person's shoes but listen. Research what you are facing, cry with the person and don't be afraid to show your own emotions because you are just as human as they are, and give of yourself as they have given every ounce of their being-- and it was taken from them (stolen actually, if you were to ask them).

4. What would be your ideal “just for fun” job?

Working with children (once again).

5. What was your first “real” job?

Working on a Challenged Equestrian Farm.  I LOVED it.  There were days when the "hard chores" were done and I would just sit in the stalls with my favorite horses and pet them/talk to them. Although some may consider that a fun job.. if you are one of them, my next job was a dishwasher at a local, downtown restaurant called Mr. Manatees and it BLOWED!!!

I've been singing this song since I was a pre-teen.  When I said my "goodbye" to my Grandma, it got stuck in my head and hasn't left YET.  I still wish I could find the words to help my Mother but THANK GOD she did well today at the funeral and had the strength to get through the service.  She's brave just like her Mother and I hope that one day, I can be half as brave is she is!

The Haps & The Craps

Yay! It's Friday and everyone who has crossed my path is still alive!
Now that's a cause to celebrate.
This week has proven to be very trying so I think it's only fair that I link up and participate in the Happies and Crappies and as always, Backthatazzup!

Happies...

Alabama plays Ole Miss this weekend!

The rain finally stopped and now the sun is supposed to be out all weekend.  Thankfully so.  The ran was such a bummer!

The Voice is back on!  I heard this performance the other night and it really got my attention.. I hadn't heard this song in forever- Blu Cantrell "Hit Em Up Style"
(it's the song I have on my page today too)

I got an appointment scheduled with a Doctor I've been wanting to see.  Although it's a month away, it's hard to get in with him so just having the appointment is awesome in itself.

A new season of Long Island Medium starts soon and Theresa will be tweeting along LIVE and giving away free readings-- I just might use my tweet account just for that purpose.

I'm getting new clothes today! Finally! (check the crappies for something on this)

I was able to work a few hours this week and bring in some dough! (check crappies also)

The Circus is coming to town, the Fair too!

Crappies...

My Grandma died this week. Although she is in a better place and no longer suffering, I hate that my Mother's heart hurts and I hate that there always seems to be some kind of family drama when money is involved and multiple siblings. My prayer is that certain siblings will grow up because the big picture is that their mother died and really it's not about money.

It never ceases to amaze me how men cannot handle pain.  I walked around with a severe pinched nerve in my lower back for two weeks-- it was so bad that when I finally did go to the doctor and she injected me, she couldn't believe the size of the knots in my back. Last night, Rob did something to his shoulder before bed and complained for a couple minutes.  I was woken up during the middle night to him acting like he had been shot. I couldn't believe what I was hearing-- thank God he never has to have a period or give birth because he would probably throw himself out a window.  Nuff said.

I have go go shopping for funeral clothes and that means go to the mall.  (at least I get new clothes, right?)

When I did some work this week, my boss was like talking to a complete wall.  She gave me instructions on how to unpack Spring of 2014 clothes and then two days later told me I did everything wrong, when I did exactly what she told me to do.  Of course, I just kept my mouth shut and took the blame while she told me that if I wasn't sure about the instructions she gives me then I need to speak up and ask questions.

I still haven't had a period since my miscarriage on August 9th.  I am not able to take birth control and I have opted to not take any medications to start a period so that I can possibly get back on a regular schedule.  I did take a pregnancy test almost two weeks ago and it was negative.  I am going to wait until the beginning of October and test again but I feel like my mind is doing playing crazy tricks on me. * I would really like some advice or to speak to someone who has gotten pregnant after a miscarriage *

10 Things I Hate About Being Unemployed

Okay, so I'm not fully unemployed.. if I'm lucky, I will be asked to "work" at someone's house a couple hours a week.  There, I will steam a couple awesome lines of Resort & Boutique Wear, clean their kitchen, Swifter their floors, maybe-- if I'm REAL lucky, I get asked to clean their bathroom (I am NOT complaining- the people are awesome).  But, I'm usually home everyday, thinking of what I can clean next, what I will cook Rob for dinner, or what Bravo will rerun next.  I cannot take it.

Most of you would think that I would enjoy laying around in my PJs, but I don't.  When Rob gets up, I'm up (around 6am). There's no going back to sleep once I'm up.  I nap when I'm pregnant or sick-- I am neither.  So after thinking of ALL the reasons why I hate being unemployed, I came up with some of the most aggravating reasons-- they aren't my Top 10 or anything and I could add to them, they were just the first that came to mind. (Let me add-- I do not collect unemployment. Won't even go there, K thanks!)

1. Cabin Fever-- Hanging out at the house is no longer fun because it's become your new norm. Most people look forward to getting off work, coming home, and relaxing on the couch but that's pretty much what you've done all day.

2. When your friends are all talking about their jobs, how tired they are/over worked, or their new, hot co-worker.. all you have to talk about is what Judge Mathis told a crackhead on his show the day before.

3. You have watched every show that Bravo, Netflix, Hulu, and MTv has to offer.. plus all of the reruns and your DVD collection, twice.

4. All of the retired women at the pool have given you advice on how to get a job, suggested you go back to school (but never offer to pay for books and tuition-damn!), or told you that your biological clock is ticking and you might as well start a family.

5. Getting emails for sales that you can't enjoy.. Especially from Old Navy that continues to send me stuff stating I can have 30% off.  Boo!

6. Your dog is the only person you converse with during the day.
(You know your day is boring when your dog passes out in your lap like this)

7. Every time your phone rings, you think it could be a company calling you to set up an interview but instead it's someone you know calling to see if you have a job yet.

8. You forget what it's like to wear makeup, because why would you need to wear it when you just sit at home.

9. Even your neighbors start noticing your schedules or routines.

10. The days all run together.  One day it's the beginning of the week and in a blink of the eye it's the weekend and you still don't have a job.

What A Girl Wants Wednesday #5

Happy Hump Day, once again! I'm really enjoying putting together lists of things I want as well as I've had some positive feedback too.  So I'm thinking that I might do this on a regular basis.. if not every week, every other week.  I'm in the process of getting a cute graphic made for What A Girl Wants Wednesday and maybe in the future I will make a link up-- who knows, maybe pick up a co-host.  By no means am I a blog pro and I will never consider myself blog savvy-- but it's fun, so why not? If you want to join along and post a list of some goodies that you are currently wanting/needing (on Wednesdays), then please feel free to comment and leave a link to you page!

Until then,
What THIS Girl is Wanting..

A Top Shelf Bloody Mary, preferably in a fancy mason jar.  And I like mine with two lemons, a lime, pickled green beans, and some celery.  All the rest of the crazy "toppings" are a little much.  A salted rim is okay too!

Old Navy Yoga Capris.  I could LIVE in these guys.  They are so comfortable and literally go with everything.  I like the black ones but they come in grey too.. totally perfect for working out, lounging, or whatever your pleasure!

iPhone 5S.  I really want this.. I've done some research and although I got bored while doing so, it looks as though I can get a color.  I'd like a purple but I didn't see one, so I will take blue (silver/chrome will work too). I'm not usually the person that needs the latest and the greatest of everything, in fact, the only reason that I have the iPhone 4 is because my boss gave me one.  But I adore my baby phone!

Free gas for a year! I feel like I am always in the car.. whether is going to my Parent's house, to the store, or wherever.  This will never happen but one can dream.. right?

Alabama Season Tickets!!  Even though I HATE large crowds (because people don't have manners anymore), I would totally take Season Tickets to THE NUMBER ONE COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM!  It's so much fun dressing up in all your favorite team's gear and cheering them on.  I would so love going to the games.  One day, maybe one day!

I can't wait to see your wish list!!
Enjoy your day,
and don't forget to tell the important people in your life that you love them!

Let Angels Lead You In

April 14, 1935 - September 24, 2013

Today, Heaven gained one of the most beautiful Angels that it could receive.  My maternal grandmother, also my last living grandmother, heroically finished the long battle she has been fighting for years now. Around seven am, she took her last breath, only after opening her eyes for one last time, after three days of having them closed in a medicated, comfortable slumber.

It's literally been so long that my Grandmother has been fighting with cancer, heart issues, and so much more.. that I can't count how long she's been sick.  In and out of the hospitals, surgeries after surgeries, and multiple death scares.  This brave woman has been fighting for her life for so long.  She leaves behind a host of family that will miss her badly.  We all told her we loved her and will continue to love her and most of us said Goodbye-- but not me..

When I saw her on Friday, right before she was taken off the medications that were keeping her alive, while she was still "herself" and conversing with us all--
I told her to say hello to my son in Heaven and to tell him I love him.
She told me that they would be waiting for me when I got there.
And that's when I kissed her cheek and hugged her for the last time..
As I walked out of her room and waved goodbye, I looked at her, smiled, and told her,
See you later!

May Angels Lead Her In.. (and I'm sure they did)

All that we deeply love becomes a part of us."

The Last Friday, I'm Awesome!

Happy Friday, Folks!
There are a lot of changes happening around here and it's going to take a lot of getting used to on my part.  Especially since I'm a mega creature of habit.
Because I am starting a new job on Monday, I feel like today is my "Last Friday", almost like the Last Supper. I guess I had better make it count, huh?

Happies...

I start my new job on Monday. Thankfully, training doesn't start until 1pm and I can wear jeans instead of business casual. BIG sigh of relief here!

During the first six weeks of training, I get weekends off!

This Pistachio Commercial makes me laugh hysterically.. Joanna Rohrback is absolutely insane to me (she believes in horse diets). If you haven't seen her "original" video on YouTube, do it now.  And she also has her own website.

(they made her wear black pants this time!!!!)

I get a few new items of clothing this weekend. (notice that I don't say that I'm going shopping.. I really hate shopping.  Normally I just figure out what stores I want to go to and park closest to them, beeline it to them and get out as fast as I can!)  Nothing too special but anything new is great enough.

I cleaned my house today.. Floors have been vacuumed-- when I say that, I mean I pulled out the house and did all the corners and crannies. Mopped, sink bleached, oven cleaned, bathroom done.  It makes me feel good.  Especially since Rob got home from work and started doing dishes.

I found a new Pandora Station that plays some pretty cool music.  Something different but there's a lot of dirty lyrics (just up my alley)!!  One of the songs I heard, I think is hilarious, and I put it on the blog today!

Fajitas tonight!  We make the "insides" and then toast the tortilla..  And yes, my recipe is the bomb.com.. (and I'm a re-re)

Crappies...

It's been so beautiful all week and I was hoping it would last through the weekend.. the damned weather channel just said we can expect rain on Saturday.  Hopefully they are wrong.  My fingers are being crossed now.

After six weeks of training, my "weekends" will be Tuesday and Wednesday. My day will end at midnight which should put me home around 12:30am. Sounds fun, huh?

The fish tank (1gal lol) needs to be cleaned and Rob won't do it. Hashtag Lazy Lady!

Boys Behind the Blog

I'm super excited to FINALLY link up for Round #4! (finally)
Boys Behind The Blog

Join us on the third Thursday of every month for the Boys Behind the Blog link-up!

The Boys Behind the Blog is a monthly linkup by Mal, featuring your husband/fiance/boyfriend/best guy friend, whoever that's a guy!  This link up was created to brag about our men and get them more involved in our blogs.

Here's how it works: we post the questions on the 1st Thursday of the month, you ask your man to answer 5 easy questions and then link up with us on the 3rd Thursday of the month.

This month's questions.. (with my commentary)
1. If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
I'd want to be a Dog but I wouldn't want to be mistreated, so a bird.  That way I could fly anywhere that I wanted to.
(I think he's better suited as a Wild Beast.. because Caveman isn't an animal, or is it?)

2. What is your favorite meal?
King Crab Legs or a Grilled Cheeseburger (no fast food)
(He will literally ANYTHING.  He's like a garbage disposal. Lately he's been on a "diet" so he won't take lunch to work and will, instead, drink Mt. Dew all day and come home to have a big snack before dinner.. eat two helpings for dinner and then snack until bedtime.  If he didn't work ALL day, super hard-- he would weigh 300lbs)

3. Do you use any forms of Social Media? What is your favorite?
Facebook, rarely.
(only because he knows nothing about computers)

4. Beer, wine, liquor, other, or none of the above?
Beer (Bud Light)
(he will drink a shot or two if we are out.. he's not picky)

5. Complete the sentence: "Never have I ever..."
Left the Country
(he kept asking if this was a trick question)

Lil bit of this, Lil bit of that & BFF throwback!

(taken at the Pensacola Bluffs before Raven left for Jacksonville and Respiratory Therapy School )

While checking out Whit's blog today, I noticed that she and her bestie, did a quick little link up while waiting to start their shenanigans together in Florida.. so I thought I would jump on board and because it's Thursday, do a little bestie throwback too!

Happy Thursday.. and for the record, I'm hoping it goes by slow-- I start working next week and no longer get real weekends!

Royals by Lorde on Grooveshark

Vacationing in Florida or vacationing in NYC: Considering that I was born and raised in Florida, I'll take NYC any day.  I'd like to go and be the total tourist, minus the fanny pack!

iPhone or DroidiPhone, and is this really a question?

NSYNC or Backstreet Boys: NSYNC-- I just couldn't ever hand the Backdoor Boys.. Nick Carter's hair got on my nerves.

Being forced to delete Facebook or being forced to delete Twitter: At one point, I couldn't go a hour without checking Facebook and now that I have blogging, I could care less about it.  And I got a Twatter account and never cared much about it. So either!

(long before duck lips were uncool, sometime between 2000-2003, taking a bread from muddin')

Fireball or Miller Lite: Fireball.. I gotta have my Miller Lite, man!

Full House or Family Matters: I can still since the theme song to Full House.. I'll take little drug addict Stephanie Tanner over Erkel any ol' day.

Dumbledore or GandalfNeither

Dying Easter eggs or Carving pumpkinsI LOVE carving pumpkins and hate the smell of boiled eggs-- not in this house.

NFL or NCAAFNCAAF, ALL DAY!

A hangover forever or sobriety forever: As much as I love to go out and have fun, pop open a few beers.. I just couldn't live with hangovers for the rest of my life. Sorrynotsorry!

January or JulyJuly, I live in Florida.  You figure it out.

(2001 with Raven on the farm)

Hannah Montana or Miley CyrusI'll do without both!

Shark Week or Fashion WeekI could care less about fashion so you will not catch me watching anything about it and I live in Florida so I could go in the water and watch sharks.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or Saved by the BellI heart Zack.

Britney or Christina: B. Spears: I can't stand either one of them. Like, ever!

Burrito or Burrito Bowl: Considering that I've never had a burrito bowl.. Burrito!

Reading blogs on your phone or reading blogs on your computer: I must have my computer! As much as I love my phone- it sucks for blog reading.

Angelina or Jennifer: Angelina is not human to me.

Doug Funny or The RugratsRugrats

An open mouth chewer or a heavy breather: Both annoy the hell out of me but chewing with your mouth open makes me want to kill someone..I just cannot take it.

What a Girl Wants Wednesday #4

Happy Hump Day! What a Girl Wants is very important and I think we should all make it known that we really need have these desires. It's been awhile since I've added to my running list of what I want, so I thought what better than to get back to the list today!
Oh and I can't forget that I'm linking up with Liz for the
Hump Day Blog Hop and then with Mal for Wildcard Wednesday!
(oh and I added a song for your listening pleasure-- it's been stuck in my head!)

Anything Could Happen by Ellie Goulding on Grooveshark

1. Massage.  I want a massage so bad, but not deep tissue.  Oh no!  Just a gentle pressure massage, no oil even needed.  I don't need conversation, nor music; just rub me.

2. Bare Minerals Eye Shadow. Have you tried these?  They are the best (but only if they are the newer ones that have the little "safety" guards inside). I absolutely love this stuff and hate using anything else, although I will at times.  Bare Minerals has some of the most beautiful colors and I like their powder too!

3. Hibatchi. I have absolutely been craving these goodies.  Although it's way too much food for me but the veggies are so good.  I'm salivating now.  Some places have lunch specials around here but it's way too much to even consider for a lunch meal (in my opinion).

Oh yeah-- Flowers, every once in awhile.  It's been awhile since I've had pretty flowers in the house.  They don't even need to be fancy, but real.  They just really brighten up a space.

1. Temurpedic Mattress.  Ahh these sound so devine.  I thought my mattress was nice but by far it is not. With the pain in my back and Rob tossing and turning, I seriously need a good mattress.  I feel that they are totally worth the investment too-- one day!

2. Toms Shoes. These shoes are not only so cute to me but the company stands for some really good causes.  I just all all the styles they have too.

3. Dollar Tree Solar Power Monkey.  ACK!  We can't find this anywhere except online and there is no reason to order a huge box just because I want one little toy for my collection. I'm dying for this though.

1. Boxer Puppy (with mostly white and distinct coloring patches). We are not getting a puppy any time soon but I have been seeing so many cute Boxers, especially puppies lately and they are giving me a "fever"!

2. Crimson Tide Tree. I'm pretty sure we will still be at the condo in December and won't have room for a tree, I DIE for this.  It's small and I would love to decorate it with only Crimson Tide ornaments, maybe DIY ones!?

3. Eyebrow Waxing. My eyebrows aren't out of control or anything.  I just absolutely hate plucking.  It blows.

So girls.. what are you wanting this Wednesday?

The Hump Day Blog Hop

SKINNY Dunk-A-Roo Dip

You may or may not remember these little treasures from the 90's, but I sure do.. especially due to the amount of calories and fat grams they had in them. So imagine my surprise when my Blogger Bestie Brittney @ True Vintage Love posted this recipe for
SKINNY Dunk-A-Roo Dip ..

YOU WILL NEED:

- a box of funfetti cake mix
- light whipped topping
- 1 to 2 cups of greek yogurt (either plain or vanilla) depending on how thick you want the dip
- animal crackers for dipping

START BY:

- emptying the cake mix into a medium sized bowl
- add the first cup of yogurt & mix thoroughly (the mix will still be crumbly at this point)
- start folding in the whip cream, a little at a time, making sure you get all the mix wet
- add more or less yogurt, it just depends on how thick you want your dip. we like ours thick like frosting, so we only use one yogurt cup
- enjoy with crackers!

dip can be kept in a plastic container with a lid on it, in the fridge for no longer than a week, to a week and a half. you might want to give it a couple of twirls when you first pull it out of the fridge. it's ALWAYS better the second day ;)

HERE ARE THE NUTRITION FACTS:

- makes about 20 servings
- each serving is around 120 calories
- each serving has 3g fat
- each serving has 25g carbs
- each serving has 1g protein
- each serving has 15g sugar

*this is not including all the animal crackers that you will eat with this! if you are counting calories, make sure you looking at the serving size of the animal crackers you are eating so you can correctly track them!

Never Ever Ever.. Cleaning Version (& cool tricks)!

In honor of all the cleaning I did yesterday, at my Parent's house and my own home.. I thought I would make today's Never Ever Ever link up all about cleaning!
Stick around, I may throw in some neat tips and tricks you didn't know!

Never Ever Ever...

Will I be able to understand how people can let their Kitchen Sink area be dirty.. that's where your dishes go, where some people get their drinking water from.  If I enter your house and the backwash of your sink is filthy (or moldy), and your faucet is crusty from hard water-- I will turn my nose up at you.

*Tip*
Rub a faucet with waxed paper to prevent spots and fingerprints.  Also, you can remove mineral deposits easy with white vinegar!

Will I understand how someone can ignore a dirty toilet and not clean it.  I will NOT use a bathroom if the toilet is dirty.  If it has brown rings around the inside.. what in the heck is on the toilet seat or outside of the toilet?  No can do!

*Tip*
Snip off a piece of Magic Eraser and drop it in the toilet, Let it float overnight and it’ll remove any toilet ring. No scrubbing! No one wants to be touching toilet germs, not even with gloves on.

Will I not believe that a washing machine needs to be "cleaned out" at least once a month (and the door needs to be left open for air to move in and out). Have your clothes ever had a sour smell or have you seen the uber expensive Tide Washer cleaner?  Yeah.. totally gross to me!

*Tip*
Pour a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid into the detergent cup of your dishwasher-- It will remove lime deposits and iron stains. You can also use Bleach or Pine Sol in the detergent dispenser for a full wash (no clothes, on hot) and it will do the same job that the expensive washer cleaners will do.  I just recommend using Lemon or Lavender Pine Sol and only about a cup.

Will I leave a wet sponge in my sink.. if you wash dishes with them, you don't want them laying on whatever you have in your sink nor do you want them full of water all the time.

*Tip*
Use a binder clip as a sponge stand, This will allow it to air-dry instead of getting all mildewy.. and run your sponges through the dishwasher once a week to get them clean (or more often).

Will I like dirty baseboards.  Now, I understand that this is a bit much but I just painted all of the baseboards at my parent's house and while they aren't that dirty.. I was amazed to see how dirty these suckers can get over the years.

*Tip*
Keep your baseboards clean with fabric softener. It's a whole lots easier than filling up a bucket and rinsing them down!

Do you have any cool tricks or tips you can share?
I LOVE them!
