Pool Problems & Sunday Social

Not only is the sun NOT shining today but my parent's have allowed their pool to look like this-- because my Father is "out West", Rob and I have taken on this challenge.  The crappy part is that you have to get in the water to clean it with the apparatus.  Bleh.
The good news is.. My sister's blueberry bushes are in FULL BLOOM!!
Oh.. and I almost forgot to mention how I have managed to bribe Rob to do things around my parent's house on his day's off (even though he had to do a small job yesterday-- don't fret.. I packed him a nice lunch)
*Cinnamon & Sugar w/ Pecan French Toast, Folks.. with hand cut cheese and peckeroni-- whoops, pepperoni and a cuppycake for lunch*

*Steak and Eggs y'all*
Who loves duck faces??  I do, I do!
Levi hopes everyone had a GRRRRREAT weekend.. and now it's time for the
Sunday Social!

What is your favorite movie of all time?
This is super hard because I have such a deep love for so many movies.. can I have more than one?  Pretty please?!

What's your favorite movie quote?
"No wire hangers ever!" -- Mommy Dearest

What's the best movie to watch for a girl's night in?
Well.. when I have a "girl's night in".. usually we start being silly and can't sit still long enough to pay attention to a movie. Umm Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, 10 Things I Hate About You.. but by ALL means.. NOT any of the Twilight movies!!!!

What is the best break up movie?
Forgetting Sarah Marshall or Sliding Doors

Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?
Well.. of course someone super famous, drop dead gorgeous, and full of talent!

Which movie star's closet would you like to raid?
haha one that doesn't shop at Old Navy! Seriously, there isn't one that I would raid because I don't pay attention to fashion much AT ALL. I would just like someone to dress me each day in something comfy and stylish.  I'm super laid back and don't like anything real flashy. Rachel Zoe wouldn't work for me!

Ideas Please?! Happies & Crappies!

Happy Friday Folks!  If you could see me now, then you could see that I'm doing a happy dance!  I'm feeling a little better today than I have been and I've promised myself that I'm going to try my best and be happy for the great things I have!  With that being said-- the 4th of July is my first anniversary and I'm not really a gift kind of person.. especially since only one of us is bringing in the majority of the money.  Plus, I asked for a Swifter mop and Airwick plugins-- seriously.  I am that person!  Anyway-- I would like to make/create something cute for Rob.  Normally I would make a super big meal of his choice but because we are going to his friend's house for a BBQ, that's out of the question..  I made some YUMMY cupcakes last night and he gobbled most of them up so I know that I will be making them again.  All I did was crush up some pecans and put them in the mix and viola! Maybe I should just make something sweet and a cute card?  Ideas please? Any of you that are GREAT at baking are more than welcome to come over and bake for me!  I promise to shower you with lots of compliments.. maybe a cocktail?  Huh? Huh? Say yes PLEASE!

And as usual.. one of my favorite parts of the week--

My boss gave me an iPhone 4!  He gave it to me!  Just out of the blue.. along with my weekly check-- he just handed it over.  I've been working with a 3GS for the longest time and whining and complaining that I wanted a 4 but couldn't afford one out of the store and didn't want to wait until 2014 to upgrade for free.  KILL ME NOW.. errrr wait!!!!  I want to enjoy my new phone.  Life is grand today!  Ahhhhhhh!

Yesterday my Brooklyn buddies came over and hung out by the pool with me!  I see them every now and again but it's rare that we are ALL together at the same time.  Samantha (the daughter) is always doing her school work and she is just killin' it in college.  It was SO hot out yesterday and the pool was like bath water but we had a great time and it really lifted my spirit! (it's not the greatest picture but when you ask a 70 year old neighbor passing by to take the picture-- you work with what you get!)

The new season of MTv's Catfish came on this week.  I don't know why but I love that show.  It's crazy to see how people can get so attached online-- this week a girl talked to someone for two years and asked them to marry her.  It turned out that the person she was talking to was her BEST FRIEND and the whole time she had been having phone sex with her best friend's cousin.  Come on folks.. really?

It's PAYDAY!!  Need I say more?

We got two new lines in at work and I'm really digging them.  I haven't really gotten to look at them too much, basically just color code them and such.  They are super awesome.  One of them is basically linen and I'm not really into it but the other one is really light and summery.

I'm out of ice and I have to leave for work early to get some more!!!

Have a Great weekend!!
I almost forgot to mention... Rob works tomorrow and I have the WHOLE day to check out two new blogs!!  Raves + Revelations and Helene in between!

Happy Day AFTER Hump Day!  I planned on posting this yesterday and the day just got away with me-- anyway, when I was reading the small handful of my FAVORITE blogs, I totally had to borrow Katie's topic for the day.  Katie is just TOO precious and you can read all about her daily lifestyle blog if you visit her at Keep Calm and Carry On!

I confess...

If I am not out in the sun at least every other day for 45 minutes or more.. there is a chemical (yes, it's gotta be) in my brain that makes me think that my Irish Girl Tan will disappear over night and never ever ever come back.

My obsession with ice has become quite insane.  I've gone from two to three 44oz cups a day to maybe 6 or 7.  That's not the worst part-- I only want ice from certain stores.  It used to be Sonic had my most favorite ice or Zaxby's (although they never sold just an ice cup- you had to buy a full soda).  Now it's a certain Tom Thumb or Circle K and BOY, they see me coming (with two large cups in hand).

My anniversary is coming on on July 4th (my first anniversary).. my fiance wants to go to his friend's house and sends me a text, "So and so invited us to his house for the 4th, bring beer and a side dish".. this is NOT how I expected to spend my anniversary and it does NOT make the fact that we have been having hashtag couples issues lately any better.

I don't get this whole new Instagram video crap!!  And I don't understand why I can't email myself the videos and then download them to my computer.  Maybe it's because I don't have the newest model of iphone? Maybe it's because I'm not skinny and wear a size 6 shoe?  I mean, come on.. I've done all the damn updates!  Apple!  Stop EFFING with my heart!

I work part time, each week.. I don't get to pick my hours, I just show up when I am asked.  I have sent out over fifty resumes and gone to about three interviews.  I am angry. Angry that "certain people" thinking I just enjoy laying by the pool each day, being stuck in the house, listening to people talk about special parts of their day. IT IS BREAKING ME DOWN DAY BY DAY AND I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN TAKE IT-- not having a steady, day by day job.. or being hassled by "people".

I just want to be ultra happy.. every day.. all day.. and I don't want to feel hurt like I have been feeling lately-- and I don't want to have to look past anything.

Never Ever Ever Link Up

It's not Friday yet?  Ugh!  I feel like this week is dragging-- maybe it's just because I'm waiting on a call back for a job that I REALLY want.  As usual, I'm excited about another link up!  Hopefully one of my next posts will be a happy one, talking about my new job!

So Never Ever Ever....

Have I had a professional pedicure.  I do not like people touching my feet at all.  I think I get it from my Mother, although she will get pedicures.  My feet aren't horrendous or anything but I feel bad for the person who has to have feet up under their nose and I just can't imagine any amount of money being good enough to justify rubbing, cleaning, and dealing with someone's feet.

Will I spend $60 on hair products.  My neighbor loves to buy all kinds of fun hair stuff and makeup-- the other day she gave me some goodies for my curls.  I love the stuff but when she told me how much she paid, I almost died.  I'm happy with Walmart brands!

Will there EVER be a best friend as awesome as mine!  No matter what happens.. we can always find something funny (to us at least) to talk about and whenever we haven't seen each other, we pick right up where we left off.  Besides, how many people do you know that you can send morning turd pics to?  Hmmm?  Yeah, that's what I thought.

Will I stop whining about wanting an iphone 4 until I get one. I'm not due for a free upgrade until March of 2014 and I refuse to pay full price for a new one.  Wahhhh!

Will I stop being so clumbsy.. I am forever running into things, dropping stuff on myself, etc.  I am constantly walking into things and bruising myself.  If I don't hurt myself at least once a day-- it's almost like it's not a normal day.

Would I say no to an ice cold beer on a sunny Florida day!

Would I watch someone mistreat a child or animal in my presence.

Will I not make a god awful noise when the back of my throat itches.

KEEP OUT Westboro Baptist Church!

Army Staff Sgt. Jesse Thomas Jr. was honored and buried Saturday, receiving full military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery. He was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan on June 10.  He left behind a wife and three small children. Pensacola is extremely proud of our Military, past and present-- and we wear our Patriotism proudly.  So you can imagine how all of us felt when we heard and saw this:

Military funerals have become pagan orgies of idolatrous blasphemy, where they pray to the dunghill gods of Sodom & play taps to a fallen fool.
This message to be peacefully preached in respectful, lawful proximity to the memorial of Staff Sgt. Jesse L. Thomas
Saturday June 22, at 12:15 p.m.
East Hill Church of God in Christ,
400 East Jordan St., Pensacola, FL
Staff Sgt. Thomas gave his life for the Constitutional right of WBC to warn America. To deny us our First Amendment rights is to declare to the world that Staff Sgt. Thomas died in vain, and that America is a nation of sodomite hypocrites.
“Except the Lord build the house, They labor in vain that build it; Except the Lord keep the city, The watchman waketh but in vain.” Psa. 127:1.
The Lord no longer builds the American house; nor does the Lord watch over and protect America. These soldiers are dying for the homosexual and other sins of America. God is now America’s enemy, and God Himself is fighting against America.

Police estimated that over one thousand people came out yesterday at the church and in front of the base (NAS) to protect the family from any protesters.. None of them showed up.  Some of my friends were there and said that it was crazy.. that WBC more than likely got scared/intimidated by the massive amounts of crowds and support our town provided. We will never stand by and let someone mistreat our Soldiers-- let that be a lesson for these people.  KEEP OUT OF OUR TOWN!

Sunny & Social Sundays

It's time time to put this sunny weekend to rest and link up with Neely for another Sunday Social-- WOOT!  I had a fun weekend and I hope yours was the same.. I included some pictures at the end of this post, along with a "cute" little story involving our pool rules!

What's your favorite store to shop at?
I do love Walmart but it's a must that I shop at certain times because I can't stand the crowds of rude people that can't say "excuse me" when they almost run you over with their carts or their cars in the parking lot.  Old Navy ONLINE is my go-to for clothes.  Their TALL jeans are my fave!

If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?
Geez.. I'm so not into fashion!  It would have to be Old Navy.  I need a serious stylist. After losing so much weight, I've never really found what I like to wear.

Must have closet staple?
Old Navy Yoga Capris and Jeans

Favorite kind of shoes?
I'm a Florida girl through and through-- Flip Flops!

Best clothing deal you ever gotten?
I buy so much from Old Navy that I am constantly getting emails for 30,40, and 50% off.  As you can tell.. I'm pretty much stuck on Old Navy-- I really don't go anywhere that I can't throw on shorts and a t-shirt so mainly I'm just ordering jeans and such from the online store.  Nothing FANCY!

Style you'd love to try?
Anything NOT Old Navy.. hahaha :)

So.. the Pool Rules are way outta control!!!  Last night around 6pm we decided to head down to the pool and unwind.  Our neighbor joined us and it was great fun.  As I've mentioned before, I LOVE ice!  Every time I go down to the pool I will take a large cup of it with me-- in a Tervis Tumbler.. in fact, mine looks like this--
Anyway.. we are minding our own business and I hear, from halfway across the parking lot.. "Excuse me!  Excuse me! You cannot have glass at the pool!"  In my nicest voice I said, "This isn't glass, it's a Tervis Tumbler."  Of course this OLD BAG apparently could not only hear me but had NO EFFING idea what I was talking about so I began banging my cup on the side of the pool saying "IT'S NOT GLASS, IT'S PLASTIC!!"  She then walked away.
Are you kidding me?  I had never seen her before.. and who was she, a Condo cop!?
I'm down there almost every day with the same cup and I have seen others down there with them too. Now I know that I don't look 32 years old and some may think that look 18 but I don't want to be treated like a child-- nor do I want to be yelled at from across the parking lot.  If you would like to speak to me then you need to come up to me where you can CLEARLY see that my cup is NOT glass and then carry on and mind your own damn business.

And because I just adore my new friend Stephanie and her blog Never The Same Spice Twice, I had to include a video of Levi and the toy that she sent him-- he's insane with squeaky toys so it only lasted about ten minutes and he was one worn out pup afterwards!

My 1st Cara Box!

One of my FAVORITE bloggers here.
This was my first time participating and it's something I will do again and again.

The Kick Ass new friend I made that sent my Cara Box was Stephanie.  Let me just give her a few props here-- She has got meal planning down to an art!  I'm so glad to have met a new friend through this Exchange, especially one that has so many great recipes. hehe

Can you tell I was a little excited? I had the box delivered to my Parent's house for a couple of reasons.. one being that our condo has inside doors (like a hotel, well.. because it's an old hotel) and secondly being that I don't trust my neighbors.  So when my Dad called and said I had a package, I rushed over. (They are ten mins away!)  I tore open the box and was so happy with what was inside.. just like a kid in a candy store.

I MUST start by mentioning my favorite gift in the entire box and what I thought was the sweetest thing (cream of the crop!) -- Stephanie sent a squeaky hot dog toy for my puppy Levi.  Funny thing is-- the hot dog has lettuce. HAHA!  Seriously though.. how thoughtful. I'm going to video his love of all things that squeak and send it to her because it's a hoot! She sent some burger baskets and that was too cool because we had a movie night and Rob made chicken wings and homemade fries so it couldn't have been a better gift.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE my chapstick because I'm always needing some when I'm laying by the pool.  And the post-it notes in the shape of an ice cream sandwich are perfect for my honey-dos.. I can use the excuse that he should WANT to do them because he likes ice cream sandwiches, right?

I also got some super neat Carnival stickers and I know just what I will use them on.. and my thank you cards are too sweet and playful!  I was also sent Cotton Candy car air fresheners and they went RIGHT into the car.. can I eat air or would I just look dumber than usual?  Yum!  All in all.. I REALLY enjoyed this experience and I will be doing it again.

Happies & Crappies Numero Dos

I've just come in from a few hour at the pool and I'm feeling pretty tan for an Irish gal.  I just love my secret sun concoction and must make more soon.  Walgreens- here I come!
That's that time of the week again when most everyone gets excited.. FRIDAY!
I'm super excited today to be participating in another NEVER EVER EVER link up. WOOT!

I'm excited that my Dad is going out West on business for three weeks and because my Mother can't stand to be alone, we are going to stay with her on and off during his absence.  Levi is there, she has a brand spanking new GORGEOUS bathroom and I could spend hours in the shower, private pool, a bigger kitchen than I do-- so I can chef it up, a million and one tv channels... do I really even need to go on?  Plus I love my Mama and being with her is always fantastic.

My Cara Box came in today.. if you don't know anything about it-- PLEASE check it out because it's super incredible.  I can't tell you about what's in my box but don't worry, I will this weekend with pictures too.  YAY! YAY! YAY!

I've got a free Redbox code and we rented the movie "Side Effects" with Channing Tatum or whatever his name is-- seriously, Gals.. he's so hot that he doesn't even need a name.  Oh and Catherine Zeta Jones is in the movie too.  I'm really liking that Redbox is sending me these codes.  I signed up online and they text me free movie codes and half off codes all the time.  I really wish they would get some new movies out though-- I'm a picky movie watcher.

My interview yesterday went really well.  It will be working in an Animal Hospital, which I have a TON of experience with.  I stopped working with animals in High School because there were too many "other things" to do.  My heart will always be with animals.  I should hear back about the job next week.  I think it would be a great fit for me.  Cross your fingers please and I would love any prayers!! XOXO

Back to the job issue--- UGH!! I want to be a provider (other than my small part time job that really brings in nothing).  I feel like Rob is resenting me due to the fact that he is out working hard and I'm at home either blogging, cleaning, doing laundry, cooking ALL of his meals, sending out resumes, or by the pool.  It's not my choice to be here all day by myself-- I would rather be working.  I'm a people person and I'd like to get things for myself.  I NEED THIS JOB!

I ruined my one and only nice, green shirt.  I love green and I don't have that many "nice" (as in job interview kinda stuff) shirts.  I went on a crazy cleaning frenzy and I didn't know that the bottle that said vinegar had bleach in it and I can't smell (seriously) so I got it ALL over my shirt.  Bleh.

Bravo has been playing that stupid Real Estate show WAY too much.  Bravo is my go-to channel during the day-- half the time I'm not watching it but I enjoy background noise and I DO NOT want to listen to those crazy people, especially when I've heard it once or twice before.  Normally I would watch the Food Network but they've been showing Chefs that smack. YES, I said smack.  You don't have to smack your food to taste it-- I don't care who told you that.

Have a great weekend! I'm gonna try.  I hear the sun calling my name-- I might break a few pool rules too!

Pool Rules (updated)

So let me set this up a little for you.. the place that I live in is right, smack dab in the middle of Pensacola's Downtown area.  It's an old building that has been here forever and used to house restaurants and a couple hotels (I think).  Living here isn't so bad except for a couple things:

It's a pain in the ass to get in because you either need a key to get in the outside doors (everyone one of the fifty-something they have, and if you lose one, you are heavily fined), or you can set up a code and dial yourself in.  There are two ladies that "run" the place and they have numerous spies.  I'm not twelve! <insert eye roll here>
Each of the four floors has two washers and two dryers-- it costs $1.35 for both.  I use neither.  There is a trash shoot in each of the wash rooms that is supposed to be emptied three times a week-- Monday, Weds, Friday.  IT IS NOT!  There are days when you go in there on a Tuesday and it's so full that people apparently get pissed off and try to shove stuff in and because it's full, it ends up on the floor.

Anyway-- I'm laying at out at the pool the other day, noticing again that it seems as though there is a film on the top layer of the pool as well as the large ants who have decided to take a hot summer's day dip.  I see someone come out and post two signs up on the pool doors.  In bold print letters they say something like $100 fine for breaking pool rules.  $100?  GET A LIFE!  By the time I came up to our place and am looking down the hall, there are papers taped to everyone's door.  POOL RULES.  There aren't just five or ten Folks, but get this-- 33.  I will share my favorite.

Oh yeah-- we have an inside pool too..

#6. Do not swallow the water.
Last time I checked, I liked my water bottled.. Funny story.. if you take AZO and then pee in a pool.. your pee looks HILARIOUSLY yellow in the water!!

#13. Swimmers with long hair should use swimcaps.
Will you be providing them?  Why are you discriminating again long haired beauties and why can't we just wear our hair in a bun?  My hair is hella long and I keep in bunned-- I'll be damned if I wear a swimcap and I betcha can't find one for this big head.

#17. No smoking in the gated pool area.
No smoking within the gating area but we can stand just outside it where you have ashtrays and smoke there-- kinda doesn't make sense.  I doubt any of us are going to ash in the pool but OOOOOOK!

#18. No food, bottles, glassware or other breakable objects are permitted. No beverages except drinking water.
Vodka is clear.  I chew ice all the time-- are you going to come check my cup?  I dare ya!

#20. Persons with coughs and colds are not permitted in the pool area.
Can we be in the Condo area at all?  We do have to breathe outside air to enter our Condos.  Weird much?  There's not even a lifeguard-- who is inspecting this??  Will they take our temps at the gate?

So, with all of that being said-- We have a TON of water parks here in town and their rules are nowhere near as crazy as these-- and I did mention that there were more than this, didn't I?  One of them was to shower before getting in the pool-- WE ARE GONNA NEED A SHOWER FOLKS!!  You want us to sun, run upstairs and shower, then come back down to get in the pool?  Ahhh bullfuck!  In about ten minutes, I'm lathering up with baby oil and then getting straight in the pool-- yeah, I know.. REBEL!

**This is the Rules sign posted at my best friend's pool.. Notice anything odd about it?**

What A Girl Wants Wednesday #2

I had SO much fun with What A Girl Wants Wednesday last week that I thought I would do it again.. because, come on-- we are always wanting things? Am I right.. or am I right?
And please excuse my graphics but I have no idea how to make them and am just learning.

#1) No tan lines.  I've always been one to say that tan lines don't bother me, in fact, I like them because I can tell how much sun I am getting.  Besides, I don't parade around naked or need to impress Rob.. he's from Alaska so he's used to chicks with NO TAN.  But did you know they make Tan Through Bathing Suites?  That's pretty awesome-- I couldn't find any tankini tops-- but I would so totally wear one!
I'm revealing my secret sun weapon Ladies-- **Baby Oil and Iodine-- Mix it together but be careful how much Iodine you use (you don't want to turn oil).  It's awesome as a bronzer and you get the oil effect!**

#2) Beach time at Bamboo Willies enjoying 190 Octanes!  Pensacola Beach, FL has an awesome bar that is on the boardwalk, connected to other bars, restaurants (including Hooters), and a pier.  They have so many different types of frozen drinks and my favorite it the 190 Octane (usually with an extra shot!).  You can hang out in the bar area or behind the bar on the beach to lay out-- on the weekends they normally have some great bands and have servers that bring stuff down to the beach for you.  The bomb dot com.

#3) FOOTBALL SEASON!!  Roll Tide Roll!  My family bleeds Crimson!  My brother in law is Alumni and has season tickets, my nephew went to Saban's football camps every summer. We are just gungho.  Oh and you know how I mentioned the bars on the boardwalk in #1? Well at one of the bar's, Capt n Funs, they devote their bar into an Alabama bar on game days and food, have games, and every time Bama scores a touchdown.. shots for all the patrons.  Pretty cool!  Last year I won a Bama Beach towel.  Nifty!  And I can't forget that one of the neighbor's in my parent's neighborhood sets up his HUGE projector tv in the yard and watches the games too!  It's beyond humongous!

#4) Argyle!  I love love love Argyle-- but all I have are sweaters so I can only wear them in the winter, or what we have of one!  I need an Argyle purse maybe?

#5) New nail polish!  I'm dying for some new nail polish that stays on long and doesn't chip easy.  I've been doing my own nails as of the past couple of months (to save money) but all the polish I have is older and doesn't stay on long.  One of my buddies told me about Essie.  She's in love with it.  I'm totally going to try some-- I've seen their awesome colors!

Happy Hump Day, Folks!

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Last night started out super fun.. I cooked a delicious dinner-- lemon, bell pepper, and onion baked chicken with oven roasted potatoes and sauteed yellow squash and onions.  Rob started his new job and LOVED IT.  My neighbor came over for some blog advice and gave me some super cool hair products (info to come) and ended up doing my makeup for fun-- she does it so well!  But it took the night took a turn for the worst out of the blue and I won't go into details.  Today's interview was rescheduled for tomorrow, the sun is out, and it's a new day.  While waiting for a friend to come over and play by the pool with me.. I'm linking up with Neely and a few others for Never Ever Ever and I'm super excited.
You should check it out!

Never Ever Ever...

*Will I pretend that people with NO manners don't highly irritate me and make me want to scold them.

*Will I want to work in a Fast Food Joint (again).

*Will I say that boating on the River isn't one of my favorite things to do.

*Will I say that I don't have Baby Fever and want a child ASAP-- that's "A" child, not more than one although children are a blessing and God has a plan.

*Will I pretend to like someone if I do not.

*Will I let someone disrespect my Parents or talk ill of them in my presence.

*Will I stop being addicted to RHWO- whatever, no matter how many of the same re-runs I've seen.  (Sorry Rob)

*Will I stop striving to be the best that I can be-- weight wise, friend wise, daughter wise, girlfriend/fiance/wife wise.

*Will I stop teasing a certain friend about the fact that she had NO IDEA you are supposed to wipe yourself a certain way.

Have a Great Day Friends!!
